Three things that I am grateful for today:
1. My faith. I grew up going to church and learning Biblical principles. My life is great and I know that it is because I have followed the teachings that I learned as a child.
2. My family. My parents made a lot of sacrifices so that they could give me a good childhood and taught me valuable lessons that have helped shape the person I am today.
3. My spouse. I have a wonderful person to share my life. Our marriage is strong and we are truly best friends. I’m not saying that it’s perfect or that I don’t sometimes think we should live in separate houses but it is worth the work.
I’ve decided to come back to this blog. I’ve recently been reading personal development material and came across a really neat little 5 point plan to increase happiness. It’s a lot of journaling and since I’m an internet addict (not currently seeking treatment) but don’t really want to write paragraphs on Facebook every day, I thought I might as well come back to my blog. The ideas that I’m beginning to implement are from The Slight Edge by Jeff Olson. In one chapter he lays out 5 things that, done daily, will increase happiness. The first is to write down three things you are grateful for every day. So I will begin to do that here and once that habit is established, I will add the next step and so on. Feel free to follow along and add your own thoughts in the comments.
